Facebook displays your five most recently added photos at the top of your profile page, which many people refer to as the featured pictures or photos area. Facebook only gives you limited control to modify which photos actually display in that spot.

To edit the privacy of:

• Things you add: When you add something like a book or a movie, use the audience selector to choose who it's shared with. The selector remembers your choice, so new things you add (regardless of which section you’re adding things to) will have the same audience unless you change it. You can change the audience of something you've already added from your activity log.
• Things you've liked: You can select an audience for each section of things you've liked (example: Pages, music, books). For example, to choose who can see the movies you've liked, scroll down to the movies section, click on the pencil icon in the top-right corner and then select Edit Privacy. To choose who can see what Pages you like, scroll down to your Likes section, then click on the pencil icon at the top-right and select Edit the Privacy of Your Likes.
• Stories from apps and games: If you're sharing stories from an app or game, you can adjust the audience of future stories, or change the audience of a story you've already shared from your activity log.

Keep in mind that when you share something on your timeline, the audience you choose can also see it in other places on Facebook, such as in News Feed and search.

If you're wondering how to make the most of these changes and how to modify sections to have a little more control over what is displayed here are some ways to put your best features forward.

You don't have a lot of options for what you show and don't show. In order to remove employer, for example, you have to delete it entirely, as there isn't a checkbox to show it or not like the "gender" category under the basic information section.

If you decide you don't want your employment or education information front and center at the top of your bio, your only option right now is to remove it. If Facebook decides to put in controls at some point, you can always add those details later.

To add a bio to your intro:

1. Go to your profile
2. Click on the plus icon below Intro on the left
3. Enter a short intro and then click Save

To edit or delete your intro:

1. Go to your profile
2. Hover to the right of your intro and click on the pencil icon
3. Edit or update your intro and click Save
4. Click Save

If you don't want anyone to be able to see your relationship status, use the audience selector and choose Only Me:

1. From your profile, click About.

4. Check the box next to Update relationship status to update your status in your profile.
5. Click Save.

Note: You can only list someone in your relationship status if you're friends with that person. That person also needs to confirm that you're in a relationship together before they're listed in your relationship status.

Overview

• To edit things like places you’ve lived or your family and relationships, click About below your cover photo, then hover over the info you’d like to change and click Edit. Use the audience selector next to this info to choose who you're sharing it with.
• Anyone can see your public information, which includes your name, profile picture, cover photo, gender, username, user ID (account number), and networks
• Only you and your friends can post to your timeline. When you post something, you can control who sees it by using the audience selector. When other people post on your timeline, you can control who sees it by choosing the audience of the Who can see what others post on your timeline setting.

Tools

• As you edit your info, you can control who sees what by using the audience selector.
• Before photos, posts and app activities that you’re tagged in appear on your timeline, you can approve or dismiss them by turning on timeline review. Keep in mind, you can still be tagged, and the tagged content (ex: photo, post) is shared with the audience the person who posted it selected other places on Facebook (ex: News Feed and search).
• Set an audience for who can see posts you’ve been tagged in on your timeline.
• To see what your profile looks like to other people, use the View As tool.

When someone re-shares something I posted, who can see it on Facebook?

If you want to share a post, click the share link, and choose the audience to share with. You can change this for each item you share on Facebook.

So the good news is, only people who would have reason to see your posts in the first place would see that you have shared something from a public page.



If your co-worker – who is not your Facebook friend – happens upon that rival company’s page, he or she will not see that you have shared their post as long as you have only shared with friends

Remember a page is different from a profile.  People have profiles, and businesses or bands or public figures have pages.    You “friend” a person but you “like” a page.  (And groups are a whole other story that I’ll have to discuss in another article!)  But, the sharing still works the same.  Whether you are sharing a link sent out by a public Page, or a photo shared by a friend, you can control who will see what you shared.


When someone clicks Share below your post, they aren’t able to share your photos, videos or status updates through Facebook with people who weren’t in the audience you originally selected to share with. 

Only the people who could see those posts when you first made them are able to see them when someone clicks Share. Use the audience selector to adjust who you share posts with.

Note: When a friend shares a link that you posted, they can share the link with a wider audience than you originally shared it with. Keep in mind that any text you added in your post will not be shared

Something that’s public can be seen by anyone. That includes people who aren’t your friends, people off of Facebook and people who use different media such as print, broadcast (ex: television) and other sites on the Internet.

 

What information is public?

Information you share that is always public: Some of the information you share on Facebook when you fill out your profile is public, such as your age range, language and country. We also use a part of your profile, called your Public Profile, to help connect you with friends and family. Your Public Profile includes your name, gender, username and user ID (account number), profile picture, cover photo and networks. This info is also public. Some of the ways this helps us connect you are:

• Your name, profile picture and cover photo help people recognize you
• Gender helps us describe you (ex: "Add her as a friend")
• Listing your networks (ex: school, workplace) allows others to find you more easily
• Username and user ID (ex: your account number) are in the URL of your profile
• Age range helps provide you with age-appropriate content
• Language and country help us provide appropriate content and experiences

Information you share publicly: When you choose to share something with Public (ex: when you select Public from the audience selector), it’s considered public information. If you share something and you don’t see an audience selector or another privacy setting, that information is also public. 

Stuff other people share: If other people share info about you, even if it’s something you shared with them but did not make public, they can choose to make it public. Also when you comment on other people’s public posts, your comment is public as well.

Posts on Facebook Pages or public groups: Facebook Pages and public groups are public spaces. Anyone who can see the Page or group can see your post or comment. Generally, when you post or comment on a Page or to a public group, a story can be published in News Feed as well as other places on or off Facebook.

Remember that public information can:

• Be associated with you, even off Facebook
• Show up when someone does a search on Facebook or on another search engine
• Be accessible to Facebook-integrated games, applications and websites you and your friends use
• Be accessible to anyone who uses Facebook APIs, such as facebook Graph API

You'll find an audience selector tool most places you share status updates, photos and other things you post. Click the tool and select who you want to share something with. 

The tool remembers the audience you shared with the last time you posted something and uses the same audience when you share again unless you change it. For example, if you choose Public for a post, your next post will also be Public unless you change the audience when you post. 

This one tool appears in multiple places, such as your privacy shortcuts and privacy settings. 

When you make a change to the audience selector tool in one place, the change updates the tool everywhere it appears.

The audience selector also appears alongside things you've already shared, so it's clear who can see each post. After you've shared a post, you have the option to change who it's shared with. 

If you want to change the audience of a post after you've shared it, click the audience selector and select a new audience.Remember, when you post to another person's timeline, that person controls what audience can view the post. Additionally, anyone who gets tagged in a post may see it, along with their friends.

   Does the use transform or change the original work by adding new meaning, context or expression? Using a fashion photograph to discuss the amount of photo editing used in the photograph is more likely to be fair use than if the photograph were used without comment.    Is the use commercial or purely personal? Commercial, or for-profit, uses are less likely to be considered fair use.
2. The nature of the copyrighted work

3. The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole
   The use of small portions of a copyrighted work is more likely to be fair use than copying an entire work. But even if a small portion is taken, the use is less likely to be fair if the portion used is the most important piece — the “heart” of the work.
4. The effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work
   Will the use replace the original work such that people stop buying or viewing the copyrighted work? If so, this is less likely to be fair use.
